Obituary for Daniel Kawaonahele "Dan Boy" Pawn

Daniel "Dan Boy" Kawaonahele Pawn was born on May 8, 1958 and raised in Hau'ula, Hawai'i. He passed away on December 25, 2018 in Kahuku, Hawai'i. He was the son of the late William Pawn Sr. and Dorothy Pawn and the 6th child of 13. As a young boy growing up in Hau'ula he attended Hau'ula Elementary School. He later attended Kahuku High School where he became an outstanding football player. He definitely was and always will be a "Red Raider for Life". After high school he served as a Squad Leader in the National Guard. Upon joining the National Guard, he had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, Australia and New Zealand. After returning home from serving in the National Guard he started his lifelong career as a 2nd generation painter following in his father's footsteps. At the start of his lifelong journey as a painter he joined the Local Painter's Union then went on to start his own business as an independent contractor, which he was very proud of. Daniel "Dan Boy" Pawn was a very kind, generous, humble and hardworking man. He lived out his years with his late wife Paulette "Iwa" Pawn. Children: Dorcas Ku'uleinani Pawn (Lafaele), Deedee Laniola Teisina (Tevita), Johnny Daniel Pohaku Pawn (Sadie), Chantel Iwalani Pawn, Wayne Kealoha (Shawna), and Bernard "Kawika" Kealoha. Grandchildren (9), Great Grandchild (1). Siblings: The late Richard "Tody" Kahana, the late Leinani McGee, the late James "Jimmy" Pawn, Dorothy "Laniola" Kahala, the late Maraea "Kuni" Pawn, William "Honey Boy" Pawn, Jr., Ulrich Naki, Blanche Lease, Nathaniel "Bonz" Pawn, Cora Lou Leong, Charles Kahana, James "Baba" Kahana.
