Floyd A. “Scott” Bechtol Jr., of Ka’a’awa, Oahu, Hawaii islands, passed away on December 17, 2021. He was born on December 11, 1941.
Scott Bechtol passed away quietly in his home in Ka’a’awa. He recently celebrated his 80th birthday this year. He was originally from Michigan but has made his home in Hawaii since 1969.
His Michigan family, his siblings, cousins, and friends, knew him as Floyd A. Bechtol Jr. He was Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa. He was a renowned artist and designer as the world recognized him as Scott Bechtol, “The Candle Man of the Wax Revolution”. He created unique and beautiful custom candles that he displayed “Under a Tree” in Haleiwa, and the Punaluu and Iwa Art Galleries. Scott spread his “Light” wherever he went. He was the Beloved of his friend, wife and partner of 45 years, Beth Fotinos.
Scott will be cremated and returned to the Ka’a’awa Ocean that he loved.
