Obituary for Helen "Helen Kickbush" Johnson

Helen Johnson, born December 15, 1924 in Denver Colorado also known as Helen Kickbush. Graduated from Denver North High School in 1942. Thereafter, began working for the Pullman Company, famous for its sleeping railroad cars, in the Denver Union Pacific yards, in the parts department. There she met James Strayer and subsequently married. Upon birth of son, Bill, she moved to Fairplay Colorado in 1962. Later she became the Clerk for the Town of Fairplay for 15 years. Retired and married South Park rancher Ralph Johnson in 1989 and moved to Jefferson Colorado. Upon becoming a widow and after surviving multiple snowy and cold winters in the Rockies, Helen became a 'snow bird' spending the cold months in Honolulu Hawaii with her son, where he lives and works. Eventually made Hawaii her permanent home where she lived for several years until her death. She always missed her home state of Colorado and talked fondly of the friends and family still there.
