John Hardon McDaniel, 52 of Ewa Beach, HI passed away on January 5, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.
His beautiful wife, Darryln, family and friends were by his side when he drifted off to be with the Lord.
John was born on February 8, 1970 in San Francisco CA. and raised by his mother Betty Mae McDaniel in Monrovia CA., graduated from Rialto High School in 1989, before joining the US Navy in May 1992.
John honorably served as a Culinary Specialist in Yokosuka Japan from September 1992 - 1995 aboard the USS O'Brien. (awarded shellback)
From 1995 - 1996 Naval Air Station Adak Alaska (awarded advancement to E4)
From 1996 - 2000 Balboa Naval Medical Center San Diego CA.
2000 - 2007 Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor WA., aboard the USS George Washington and USS Ronald Reagan (awarded advancement to CS2 and aviation warfare pin)
In 2007, he relocated to Naval Station Pearl Harbor HI., aboard the USS Paul Hamilton and USS Hopper.
In 2008, John met the love of his life, Darryln, and both became inseparable.
John retired after 20 years of Honorable service on August 31, 2010. At his retirement ceremony, he surprised Darryln with the most romantic marriage proposal in the presence of many friends and family. The love between John and Darryln was sealed a year later on August 27, 2011. The two became one in the eyes of the Lord.
Many People never knew the extent of John's battle. During treatments at Palo Alto in San Francisco, he was a patient helping other patients.
John was always strong, encouraging and sharing God's love with every opportunity. He remained positive and never complained or asked "Why me?"
John's faith and love for God was always his reason to keep smiling and loving others, despite the challenges he faced.
