Obituary for Kalepo Liugalua Vaitautolu

SSG Kalepo Liugalua Vaitautolu, USA Ret., passed away at home with his Family by his side on September 26, 2022 at the age of 54.

He was born November 21, 1967, in San Pedro, California, to Liugalua and Simeamao Vaitautolu.

He graduated from Samoana High School in American Samoa in 1985. He enlisted in the United States Army in August 1986 and served his country honorably for twenty years.

Kalepo was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in October 2017. His love for his family and his faith in the good Lord is what gave him the will and strength to fight and live. Everyday was a blessing to him. And he thanked God always for every breath.

Kalepo is survived by his wife Mary, his son Joshua, daughters Mao and Megan; sisters Evelyn, Carol, and Natalie; brothers Rico and Nathan.

He will always be remembered because of his kindness, his heart, and the love he showed to all. A loved son, husband, dad, brother, uncle, and friend, Kapp will be missed.

A celebration of life in his honor will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at the Ballard Family Moanalua Mortuary in Honolulu where the family will receive friends from 8 to 10 a.m. prior to the services.
