Obituary for Lenton O'iwihawaimakekai Strickland

Lenton O’iwihawaimakekai Strickland

On Tuesday May 17, 2022, Lenton Oiwihawaimakekai Strickland loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 30. He was pre deceased by his papa and mama/(dad and mom) Ralph and Amy Strickland and his uncle/(brother) Jabe Strickland. Lenton went to be with them on mama’s birthday.

Lenton was born on July 24, 1991 in Hilo, Hawaii to Jessica Strickland and Harlen Fragas. He graduated from Kailua High School in 2010.

Lenton started his working career at Zippy’s then he went to Whole Foods in Kailua. In 2017 He went to work at Kukilakila Complex in Enchanted Lakes. Later he brought his brother Kalehua to work with him. The residents of Kukilikila has expressed their heart felt loss for my son, saying that Lenton always had a smile on his face and waved to them as he drove by on his cart. Also he was very hardworking and helped any homeowner when they asked. Lenton especially loved his weekends in the front yard with his brother Kalehua, uncles Peter and Jesse and many friends especially his best friends Brandon, Sebastien, Scott and Tony. They would be up to the wee hours of the night gambling, drinking, laughing and having a blast.

On December 22, 2014 “Keiki” was born and Lenton became “memmem” cause Keiki could not say Lenton. She put the sparkle in his eyes and he was there for her anywhere, anytime, anyday. He also spoiled Kaiimi and his favorite Oshen. He loved and would do anything for his brother Kalehua and sister Lilly. I will miss those big hugs and kisses my Pakae Boy, my hardworking, loving, happy go lucky teddy bear.

Lenton is survived by his Mom Jessica Strickland; Brother, Kalehua; Sister, Lilly; brothers/(uncles), Ralph (Nina Fuller) Shannon, Matthew and Paul; Peter and Keona; Jesse, Chelsea (Zion) Temma, Awa and Bowie, Chase, Chad (Tiana Johnson) Ella and Aleia; Jasen (Stephanie Alvarado); Jabe (deceased) (Susanne) Kawena, Kehau Matsumoto, Kanani Matsumoto-Popa; Aunties (sisters), Jade (Clifford Lee) JC Lee, Mers, Tiani Apao, Kaua and Aulani and Kaleo, Oshen, Kailani, Kaiimi and Keiki
