Obituary for Nora (Lolly) Alice Rosado

Nora (Lolly) Alice Rosado passed peacefully on February 18, 2022. She was 70 years old. Nora was born in 1951 in Honolulu and graduated from Waianae High School. Soon after, she worked at Masago’s Restaurant where she enjoyed chatting with all the customers and friends. Later she became a substitute teacher for the Leeward District. She would always talk about how she loved her job and looked forward to working at Waianae High School. She loved working in the special education classroom and would sometimes cancel other jobs so that she could work with these kids.

Nora lived a full life, and her greatest love was her family. She was the proud mother of five children, and she adopted her five grandchildren after the death of her daughter. No matter the circumstances, she always made sure everyone was taken care of. Nora’s care for her family was not out of obligation, but because of who she was. All her children were proud to call her mom.

Nora was a dedicated pioneer member of Soka Gakkai International. She joined the organization in 1970 because she wanted to transform her karma and change her environment. She opened her home for district meetings and daimoku tosos. Nora chanted relentlessly for her family’s health and happiness.

Nora was predeceased by her daughter; Teri Soares, son; Edward DeMotto III, and brother's; William Eric Atiz and Kevin Brunn. She is survived by her husband; David Rosado, daughter's; Leianne Molina and Dana Chellman, son; David DeMotto, 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and brother's; and sister's; Gwen Valdez, Allen Atiz, Jeanne St John, Stanley Brunn, Brian Brunn, and Alfred Brunn.

Nora’s service will be held Saturday April 23, 2022 from 10 am to 12 pm at Ballard Family Mortuary.
