"Nani"


Ruth Esther Lehuanani “Nani” Kamai, 60, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on October 30, 2020.

Nani was born in Honolulu on January 31, 1960 to Charles Ikaia Kamai and Rose Marie Victor. She was the youngest of their six children and raised in Keahia by her grandmother, Rose Kauwe Kamai and in Kapahulu by her parents.

She is survived by her children, Denise Kamai, Jacob Kalai, and grandson Ikaika; Brothers - Kenneth (Leanora) Kamai, Adolph Duffy (Selena) LaBatte (Kuwait), Charles “TC” (Janella) Kamai (Anchorage, AK) and Rome Kamai (Kodiak, AK); Sisters - Charlene Burthold (N. Dakota), Georgette Kealoha, Mary Urata , Joy (Walter) Paiva and Cindy Fernandez; Her Uncle Joseph Kamai Sr.; Along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Nani is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Charlene Kamai and Rose Abihai, her son Ikaika Rapozo and sister, Rosalie Weaver (Anchorage, AK).

Nani’s family wishes to thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences, support and kind gestures during this time. Aunty Nani was a gentle, caring and forgiving soul. She loved everyone unconditionally.

Her ashes will be spread offshore of Kaupo Beach near Manana and Kaohikaʻipu Islands
