Rylen “Ry-Dawg” Fonoti Obituary

Rylen Keoni Fonoti, better known as Ry-Dawg was born on August 12, 1992. At the young age of 29 years old, he passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2021. Rylen was born and raised in Aiea, Hawaii by his mother Margarita (Maggie) and his father Raymond Sr (Ray). He was the youngest of four children, his older brothers Raymond Jr. and Richard, and his older sister Nohelani. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Rylen attended Aiea High School and graduated from the class of 2010. During high school, he was an all-around athlete – known as an all-star defensive football player and a wrestler. Rylen was also a class clown/jokester but when it came to the classroom or the football field, he always put in the work and got the job done. He met his “High School Sweetheart”, Amber also known as Sweety and they both fell in love. Rylen and Sweety got married on April 4, 2014 and were together for over 12 years. They were best friends and had a bond like no other. Since then, they built a life together in their lovely home in Ewa with their three beautiful children, Raiden (11), Thor (8), and Ava (7). Rylen was the best daddy to his children, they looked up to him; he was their protector, their hero, their Aqua man.

Rylen was part of the Hensel and Phelps Ohana for over 5 years where he was able to make lifelong friends and gain work experience that made him love his occupation. No task was impossible for Rylen. He always preferred the challenges that no one wanted, making him an out-standing journeyman.

Since he was a little kid and throughout high school, football became Rylen’s passion. He became “Coach Rylen” for the Kapolei Bad Boyz flag football league. He was not just a coach to these kids, but also a mentor. Rylen was very passionate about the game of football and cared so much about being the best coach that he could for the kids on and off the field. In addition to coaching the Bad Boyz, he also took the time to coach both his sons Raiden and Thor. His passion flowed through him and on to them and they will continue the #5 legacy.

Rylen was a great man who had the biggest heart. He was always the life of the party and knew how to entertain his family and friends. Rylen had the most contagious smile where he could light up any room he walked in to. He will never be forgotten, always be missed and always in our hearts. Rest in peace until we meet again, we love you.

Funeral services for Rylen will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Friday, January 14, 2022 (44 Leilehua Road, Wahiawa, HI 96786). Viewing will begin at 9 am followed by the Church Service at 10:30 am. Burial will take place at 1:30 pm at Lot 5, Block 23, Garden UU of Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary.
